In June 2015 42 they sailed northward from the port of Navidad and by September they reach the harbor named later San Diego. By October they pass the Santa Barbara Channel and in November had reached a point north of the Farallon Islands. Then turning about in a storm the again miss debate to be called San Francisco and returned to safe harbor on San Miguel Island. Here they waited out the winter storm, but Cabrillo was injured by a fall on the island, and though he instructed his men well and they carried out the voyage, the discoverer of Alta California was buried on the lonely Island of San Miguel just off the coast of Santa Barbara.
